 The mission of éLan Statistics is to create substantive works in the form of short films that are designed with the main intent to highlight the achievements of overachieving Black women. Our primary purpose is to focus solely on their success stories in the hopes that capturing this information in a positive format will encourage young women to strive for greatness in a constructive manner and not be consumed with seeking out alternative avenues that are risky and non-productive. 

This project involves specifically targeting young black girls approximately 11 years and older that may be at risk of falling short of the opportunities offered to other young females not described as “ethnic.” These girls traditionally do not have the chance on a regular basis to see women of their same ethnicity represented positively in movies, television, on the radio or in the normal occupations. Acquiring recommendations from successful artists provides the content for our short films and defines the format in which we propose to reach our at-risk youth. Our work is solely focused on emphasizing noteworthy achievements of women of color not just in the United States but around the world. 

There are too many instances in the media where criminal acts make the headlines. Creating our own content will give us the ability to circumvent the damage done by the negative images of black in the media as well as black women portraying unscrupulous characters in television shows and movies.
